Watches & Parts

imageThe gold, silver and platinum plating of vintage and modern watches, watch parts and clocks, is a great way to rejuvenate your beloved timepieces whether they are just old and worn or scratched from accidental damage. This process involves electroplating a precious metal over existing precious or non-precious metals such as stainless steel, brass or copper. Non-precious metals, such as nickel and chrome, can also be utilized in this way.

Besides gold plating wristwatches and parts, we also gold plate pocket watches and chains, clocks, watch bracelets and often individual watch bracelet links and even winding crowns.

We can electroplate all your horological items in any of the precious metal finishes we offer. Our speciality of colour matching metal watch bands to match your watch case means you do not have the added expense of gold plating the whole watch and bracelet. We can even selectively electroplate your items in a combination of finishes, for example, yellow gold, rose gold and green gold for a beautiful tri-tone gold plated finish. The electroplating materials are entirely your choice and can be any combination from our precious and non-precious metal plating services.

White gold plating is a very popular choice. After all, a 9k yellow gold watch looks beautiful in 18k white gold plate. Platinum also makes a fabulous transformation as well as palladium, palladium being one of the six platinum group metals. The appearance of palladium is very similar to that of platinum and it offers virtually the same outstanding durability and beauty at a reduced cost.

Whether your watches and parts have gemstones or enamel inserts presents no problem for the electroplating process. Our electroplating bath temperatures and solutions are safe on precious and non-precious stones as well as enamel. Your treasured timepiece will be beautifully enhanced giving it a new lease of life that will last for many years.

How long does it take to have a watch plated? For most watches it is a pretty straight forward process. However, you should allow about 7 Days from the time we receive it as our 48 hour turn around usually only applies to smaller items such as rings and bracelets.

All our electroplating is hard wearing designed to give you many years of pleasure and enjoyment if cared for properly. We love to specialise in hard to plate items and should you have any concerns we are always willing to work with you on the most suitable solution for your fine timepieces.
