We generally use silver plating for the antique restoration of…
Most of our chrome plating is of bath taps, shower and bathroom fittings. The majority of these are old and discontinued and it can be virtually impossible to find a replacement to match the existing set. If you are lucky enough to locate one you’ll find it’s often more cost effective to have the old ones re-plated.
Chrome plating is a technique of electroplating a thin layer of chromium onto a metal object. The chromed layer is highly decorative and provides good corrosion resistance, as well as being easy to clean. It is also a much cheaper final top coating in comparison to precious metals such as gold and platinum.
Chrome is commonly applied to the following items, to name but a few:
- Interior and exterior lighting
- Door handles, door knobs and letterboxes
- Bathroom taps
- Shower fittings
- Toilet flush, chains, towel rings, roll holders
- Interior and exterior car parts
- Motorcycle and scooter parts
Some plastics are also chrome plated such as games consoles, mobile phones and car badges. We can gently chemically strip this chrome to reveal the underlying nickel and then gold plate the once chrome plated plastic. Don’t fancy gold? We have many more electroplated finishes to choose from.
We offer a first rate professional chrome electroplating service. All our work upon completion, whether it’s in chrome or any other finish we offer, passes through our strict quality control before being signed off as completed prior to being carefully packaged and returned to our customers. Rest assured, our chrome plating really is the best available.
